About Subaru
Subaru built its legend on rally stages with the Impreza, then quietly became the brand of choice for dog owners, farmers and anyone with a muddy lane. They're tough as old boots, though the odd ageing Forester or Legacy does develop some charmingly eccentric electrics.
AutoECU helps Subaru owners with spare and all-keys-lost keys, immobiliser and keyless faults, module coding and diagnostics, from classic Imprezas to the latest Outback.

Subaru keys & fobs
Transponder blade key with separate remote
Impreza GD/GG, Forester SF/SG, Legacy BE/BH
Older cars often have a separate remote fob; we can program both.
Remote head key (3-4 button)
Impreza GE/GH, Forester SH/SJ, Legacy BL/BM, XV GP, Outback BR
All-in-one key and remote; tough, but the buttons do wear.
Keyless Access smart key
Forester SJ/SK, Outback BS/BT, XV GT, Levorg, Impreza GT, WRX STI VA (upper trims)
Push-button start; spares and all-keys-lost done through the OBD port.
Smart key (latest gen)
Forester SL, Crosstrek GU, Solterra
Solterra shares its system with the Toyota bZ4X; let us know your reg in advance.
Subaru questions
Can you program a key for my old Impreza or Forester?
Yes, older Subarus with transponder keys and separate remotes are very doable, including all-keys-lost. Proof of ownership is required. Call or WhatsApp AutoECU with your reg.
Why is my Subaru EyeSight showing a warning?
EyeSight can switch off due to a dirty or misted windscreen, a fault elsewhere in the car, or after windscreen replacement without calibration. A diagnostic shows which. AutoECU can read the faults and advise the next step.
My Subaru diesel keeps showing a DPF light, what can I do?
Short trips stop the boxer diesel DPF from cleaning itself, and the warning follows. A forced regeneration and a check of the sensors often sorts it. Book a diagnostic with AutoECU and we'll get to the bottom of it.
